PBS Students Explore the World of Marketing at Nutrihub

On September 26th, PBS students had the opportunity to dive into the world of marketing through an exclusive session at Nutrihub Surabaya, led by Andre Omarhadi, Area Marketing Manager East Hava at PT Nutrifood Indonesia. This visit allowed students to gain firsthand insights into how marketing strategies influence business success and how brands connect with their audiences.
What is Nutrihub?
Nutrihub Surabaya is a learning and collaboration space created by PT Nutrifood Indonesia, a company known for its commitment to healthy lifestyles and innovative food products. The space serves as a hub for knowledge-sharing, allowing students, entrepreneurs, and marketing enthusiasts to explore industry trends, learn from experts, and develop creative marketing strategies.
Understanding Products & Branding
In the first session, students explored the fundamentals of products and branding. They learned that a product is not just a physical item but anything that can be offered to the market for attention, acquisition, use, or consumption to fulfill a need or want. This includes services, people, places, organizations, and even ideas.
The session also highlighted the power of branding. A brand is more than just a logo or a name—it’s an identity that sets a company apart. Elements like design, symbols, and messaging create a unique personality for a business, influencing customer perception and loyalty. Understanding this concept helped students realize how companies position themselves in competitive markets.
Diving into Digital Marketing & Placement
In the second session, students explored the marketing mix, which consists of four key components:
Product – What is being offered?
Promotion – How is the product being marketed?
Place – Where is it being sold?
Price – How much does it cost?
These elements work together to create a strong marketing strategy. To bring these concepts to life, students analyzed real-world marketing cases and examined how Nutrifood applies these strategies.
A significant part of the discussion focused on digital marketing and placement. In today’s digital age, businesses must know how to position their products both online and offline. Students learned how brands strategically use social media, influencer partnerships, and digital ads to reach their target audience.
Bridging Theory & Real-World Experience
For many students, this visit to Nutrihub provided eye-opening insights. They not only gained theoretical knowledge but also saw how these concepts are applied in real business scenarios. One student shared:
"I used to think marketing was just about advertisements, but now I see how much strategy goes into it. This visit gave me a new perspective on branding and digital marketing!"
