Freshman Working in Singapore?!

You heard it right! The freshman students in Petra Business School got the chance to work in Singapore!
If you swung by Pakuwon Mall from August 23-25, 2024, you’d have seen the buzz at the BCA Singapore Airlines Travel Fair 2024. It was a magnet for visitors from Surabaya and beyond—nobody could pass up on the crazy flight discounts and the mountain of other benefits.
Not to miss out on all the action, we gave our students, currently taking the Global Entrepreneurship & Innovation (GEIn) program, the amazing opportunity to dive right into real-world experience, working side-by-side with one of Asia’s leading airlines, Singapore Airlines. You see, at PBS, we’ve got a knack for creating these types of chances, thanks to our connections in the business world—locally, in Jakarta, or even internationally.
And they didn’t just show up—they put in work! From learning the ropes of airline operations to developing crucial skills, the students hit the ground running.
So, what exactly did they get up to? Plenty!

Networking and teamwork were key as they worked alongside the Singapore Airlines team. The fast-paced environment taught them time management, adaptability, and attention to detail. They also enhanced their sales and persuasion techniques while developing cultural awareness in a diverse, international setting.
